Kairan joined the team in October 2021 as a DPhil student working on neuromorphic photonic computing with a wide range of applications including processor accelerator technologies and intelligent coincidence detection. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and his Master’s degree in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise from the University of Cambridge with a thesis on thin-film piezotronics in gallium nitride heterostructures in Professor Rachel Oliver’s group. He has worked on the characterization of inorganic perovskite quantum dots using electrochemistry techniques and the production of QLED devices in one internship. He enjoys hiking, bouldering, and playing tennis.
