Håvard joined our team in October 2021 as a DPhil student working on integrated photonics for neuromorphic computing applications. In particular, he will look into sensor fusion enabled by these platforms based on phase-change materials together with our industrial partner DSTL. As part of his studies, Håvard went as a Fulbright Scholar to Harvard University, where he investigated superconductivity in monolayers together with professor Jenny Hoffman. He received his integrated master's degree in Nanotechnology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2020. For his thesis, Håvard fabricated UVC light-emitting diodes based on nanowires grown on graphene. Before joining our group, he spent a year in the Advanced Concepts Team at the European Space Agency, looking into ways of utilising nanophotonics in space. In his leisure time, he enjoys socialising and sports.
